New York City Bar Association "My First" Program: My First Deposition

On Tuesday, November 30, at 6:30 p.m., the New York City Bar Association is hosting a great program for law students (and recent graduates) which focuses on all of the things you need to know to conduct your first deposition. Employers look for practical skills when they make their hiring decisions and this would be a great addition to your resume and cover letter. You may register for this program, which is free, here.

New Summer Job Application Procedures and Early Deadline for the Manhattan District Attorney's Office

The New York County District Attorney's Office is changing its application procedures for law students interested in a summer job.

In the past, applications for the Summer Internship Program were only accepted via mail. The Legal Hiring Unit now accepts applications for 1Ls and 2Ls (and part-time 3Ls) interested in a summer internship via an online application. The link to the application is here. As always, students must provide a cover letter, resume, and unofficial transcript as part of their application. If a student has already mailed in a complete application, they do not need to resubmit their application online. However, as of December 1, 2010, the Office will accept online applications only.

The application deadline is December 15, 2010.
