The New York Bar Foundation's Minority Fellowship

The New York Bar Foundation is sponsoring a Minority Fellowship, funded through the generosity of the Commercial & Federal Litigation Section of the NY State Bar Association. The Fellowship provides a $6,000 stipend for the summer of 2012 and a valuable opportunity for a student interested in commercial litigation to participate in the work of a Commercial Division Justice in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan.

Applications must be postmarked by January 31. The fellowship will be awarded at a festive gala celebration on April 24th at Lincoln Center in conjunction with the presentation of the Hon. George Bundy Smith Pioneer Award to a distinguished member of the New York bench.

Labor and Employment Law Event at New York Law School

Touro Law Center students interested in labor and employment law are invited to an event that will be held at New York Law School on Feb. 7, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. Former chairwoman to the National Labor Relations Board, Wilma Lieberman, will address the state of collective bargaining in the United States as well as the upheaval surrounding the Board's latest decisions.

The New 2012 Public Policy Handbook Now Online

Touro Law Center subscribes to the University of Arizona College of Law's Public Policy Handbook, a valuable resource for those interested in careers in the field of public policy. The Handbook is still growing, and currently contains information about 231 employers who are offering 256 internship and 39 fellowship programs. In addition to opportunities in the DC area and New York City (where a majority of public policy organizations are headquartered), the Handbook has expanded into 25 other states.
